Prop. 205 could cause the Arizona Unemployment Rate to SKYROCKET!

Prop. 205 makes it legal to Possess and Use 1 Ounce of Marijuana in Arizona.

According to the Arizona Joint Legislative Budget Committee, there are an estimated 587,100 Marijuana Consumers in Arizona.

Prop. 205 specifically says that a person can be FIRED by their EMPLOYER for testing positive for LEGAL Marijuana! (Even if the person was NOT impaired by the Marijuana at work but instead used the Marijuana at their home legally!)

As many people already know, Marijuana Metabolites can be detected in a person’s system for 30 days or more!

So, for example, Prop. 205 would allow “John Doe” to use legal Marijuana on January 1st and then allow him to be FIRED for testing positive for legal Marijuana 30 days later on January 31st!

The greatest concern is that the Prop. 205 Campaign is NOT BEING HONEST with Marijuana Consumers about this provision in their bill which says that a person can be FIRED for using LEGAL Marijuana at their own home!

It’s probably obvious why the Prop. 205 Campaign doesn’t go around highlighting the fact that their bill allows people to be FIRED for using LEGAL MARIJUANA anytime within the past 30 days. (They wouldn’t have any supporters…)

If Prop. 205 were to pass, the estimated 587,100 Arizona Marijuana Consumers would have absolutely NO CLUE that they can still be fired by their employer for using LEGAL MARIJUANA!

How many of those estimated 587,100 Marijuana Consumers will use Legal Marijuana without knowing that they can still be FIRED by their Employer, and then get drug tested within the next 30 days and wind up getting fired?!?

Most Employers already have a Drug Free Workplace Policy in place which ALREADY prohibits their Employees from using Marijuana.

That means that if Prop. 205 passes, an Employer would actually have to change their Drug Free Workplace Policy to specifically ALLOW their employees to use Marijuana at home… Who among us has an Employer who will change their Drug Free Workplace Policy to specifically allow Marijuana use, if Prop. 205 passes?!?

Perhaps it would be different if the Prop. 205 Campaign was HONEST with Marijuana Consumers about the fact that Prop. 205 says that they can still be FIRED for using LEGAL Marijuana!

Instead, the Prop. 205 Campaign is leaving Marijuana Consumers to learn the hard way by asking them “figure it out on their own” if Prop. 205 passes.

And to be clear, by “figure it out on their own” we mean, they’ll get FIRED by their Employer!
